Get a 12 ga pump or semiauto shotgun. Mossberg made one specially for
boats, all stainless. Many places where the shotgun is ok if declared
take a dim view of pistols. So show the shotgun, and hide the pistol
really really well. Or don't have one.

Agreed......... 12 ga pump 18" barrel, use #4 shot or goose shot. No
need for the 3" mag or 00/buck.
Big pattern , easy to mover wepon around confined areas, and wont put
too may leaks in your boat or kill the friendly on the other side of
the bulk head.
USMC adopted a newer auto loader shotgun. Check that out for ball
dragging effect. Or go to discount store and get a Rem 870 for $200.
