a branch will take off whether alcohol or propane stoves are best for this boiling Nonsense. Everyone knows that electric stoves boil better. All kidding aside I've always had good luck with the boiling water trick. Start with a few seconds and work your way up. Of course when it's time to remove the hose from the fitting, don't even bother to waste your time. This is what utility knives are made for. |

No danger of scalding yourself if you spill it, and a blow dryer doesn't cool off before it can soften a really stiff hose. Of course when it's time to remove the hose from the fitting, don't even bother to waste your time. This is what utility knives are made for. And blow dryers. Heat will not only soften the hose, but also any sealant used by a misguided PO or builder...much easier than a knife. I kept a cheap 1000w foldup travel model in my toolbox just for this purpose. -- Peggie ---------- Peggie Hall Specializing in marine sanitation since 1987 Author "Get Rid of Boat Odors - A Guide To Marine Sanitation Systems and Other Sources of Aggravation and Odor" http://shop.sailboatowners.com/books...ku=90&cat=1304 |
