I've ordered from Raka and found the Raka #127 resin and #350 no-blush hardener ideal for clear-coating fiberglass. It's a less-viscious, softer epoxy that some others. Most similar to MAS in my experience. Quick shipping. Good prices. John John Caldeira Dallas, Texas, USA http://www.outdoorplace.org/ |

Once major difference between Raka and Mas (as I ended up getting some Mas to finish up), out of the can viscosity of Raka is noticable thinner, so I would definately prefer to use that as a first coat over bare wood. |

Epoxy Source??
John,
I find RAKA's '3 gallon kit' to be the most economical for 'all around' use/inventory. Since Larry equates everything to '1 quart' increments, it is very easy to 'mix-n-match' the order to different 'combinations' of basic resin & hardeners. It is also very nice to have a 'kit' of his '5-Minute' stuff on hand. Not so much for boatbuilding . . . it's done many a repair around the house, yard, boats, etc. Regards & Good Luck, Ron Magen Backyard Boatshop "John Boatright" wrote in message ... HI!! Hey Scotty. Thanks for the support (yes, you too Dave). And no, I don't spam. I once posted an advertisement here and the feedback was pretty negative, so I withhold such activities. I figure products and service speak for themselves and word gets around. John Boatright wrote in message ... HI!! Question has anyone ever ordered Epoxy from these places?? http://www.advantagecomposites.com/catalog/ http://www.Raka.com Thanks!!! I bought (2) 7.5 gallon System 3 fairing kits and 2 gallons of System 3 Primer from Advantage - four separate orders all together. The products arrived promptly - 3 or 4 days (I live on the West Coast). The total price for these System 3 products, including shipping, was less than I could find elsewhere. Plus, I did not have to pay my state's sales tax. The owner Brian Dixon tries to please. I recommend him. Dave Wright Seattle, WA Oh crap, Brian sells goo? I did not know that and I will check him out, I have always liked his posts. And here I must note that Advantage was not the company I was suggesting spams me either... Sorry Bri, did not know that was you. Guess I gotta buy some goo from you now... Scotty from SmallBoats.com |

FGCI is fine, but it is room-temperature only (60F or higher for proper
cure). Otherwise, it's fine. Brian -- My boat project: http://www.advantagecomposites.com/tongass "Bray Haven" wrote in message ... FGCI.com Greg Sefton |
