Next week it will be my 30th wedding anniversirary. I think
that my wife is expecting something special. Any sugestions? I bet she is. This is the same woman who believes she "deserves" to be in some kind of car, though Donal has yet to identify it. On top of that, when driven around in it she rewards him with a kiss that is directly the result of being in the car. No doubt Donal seeks whatever physical rewards possible and meeting her expectations for the anniversary might net him additional affections. Last week was my 6th wedding anniversary. Cheers, RB |

I'm sure that an Evo will help you to make to your 30th. Isn't Susannah really impressed? Why don't you show what a failure you are by showing her the sort of car that a successful film producer owns? Regards Donal -- |

Well, let's answer poor frustrated Donal, who needs a nice car to get attention from his wife! Suzanne IS impressed with the Evo. In fact, before we bought the Subaru Legacy Turbo, she noted how much better the Speed 6 was in handling. He only objection to the Evo is the chassis feeling "up high" at times, which is something most rally cars share. Now, how can I show her what a failure I am by buying 4 nice cars in 3 years? Slow down when you get mad, Donal. You're not making any sense! RB |

You *know* that you have never managed to strike a nerve with me. Well, let's answer poor frustrated Donal, who needs a nice car to get attention from his wife! After you have been married for 30 years, the last thing that you need is "attention" from your wife. What you want it to be able to watch the TV without interruption. Suzanne IS impressed with the Evo. Perhaps the two of you are suited to each other. I'm glad that my wife wouldn't be impressed by an Evo. Why don't you let Susannah look at a DB9? Then you can ask her which she would prefer. DB9 vs Evo?? Ask her. If you don't know what the answer is, then you are just plain stupid. Regards Donal -- |

![]() Bob..... You *know* that you have never managed to strike a nerve with me. Well then KUDOS to you! You sure type like someone who's upset. I can't imagine why though. After you have been married for 30 years, the last thing that you need is "attention" from your wife. What you want it to be able to watch the TV without interruption. Lucky for me I know some people who have been even married longer than you and they sure would find what you wrote above funny and sad! But I'll let your comment stand on it's own! Perhaps the two of you are suited to each other. I'm glad that my wife wouldn't be impressed by an Evo. Indeed. My wife has driven some of the best handling cars and drives a 6 speed with perfection. She can also swim faster than most people and can sail. She's interested in what a car can do, not where it gets parked! Why don't you let Susannah look at a DB9? Then you can ask her which she would prefer. The DB9 is an ungainly boat to her. Out of all the current cars she likes the new M3 best, which also out-handles the DB9 with ease. What you have failed to understand is the simple fact that the DB9 does not lead in any subcategory of performance...not one. Yet your impressed with it cuz it's pretty and expensive. That's the long and short of it, Donal...oh, and that your wife has special kisses for you when carted about in a car she "deserves." And what car IS that, Donal???? It's pretty clear you're afraid to tell us. Nah, you're not mad! This little debate has gone great for you! You're on par with John McCain! RB |

Out of all the current cars she likes the new M3 best, which also out-handles the DB9 with ease. 0-60??? Top speed??? You are talking absolute nonsense, as usual. The M3 is a boy's car. The DB9 is a man's car. What you have failed to understand is the simple fact that the DB9 does not lead in any subcategory of performance...not one. Yet your impressed with it cuz it's pretty and expensive. That's the long and short of it, Donal...oh, and that your wife has special kisses for you when carted about in a car she "deserves." Yup!! I have to admit that you have insulted me with that one. Despite the insult, I feel that I will be able to carry on. You have definitely wounded me. I am really feeling the pain. Does this make you feel that you are winning? I admit that you are correct when you say that an Evo has more class than a DB9. You are a genius. Not many people would have been able to figure out that an Evo would be more desirable than a DB9. I am envious that your wife is intelligent enough to see that your Evo is better than a DB9. She loves the DB9. She thinks that I should get one. Regards Donal -- |

![]() That sort of says it all. I'm pleased to say that I really do not believe that my wife would be impressed by an Evo. Right. I think we can believe that your wife would have no connection with a 350 HP AWD rally car that pulls a full G and corners better than many supercars. But that doesn't mean that ALL women aren't interested in such things. In fact there are quite a few female enthusiast drivers around. My wife has never even heard of a Subaro. She drives a Nissan Micra. She drives one of the worst cars in the world for safety. It scores 2 stars in crash tests. A Smart Car is FAR safer. Of course I wouldn't let my wife drive a Micra as I actually like her. She commutes in the safest small sedan in the world. It's also fast and fun to drive. She thinks that the Lexus gs300 is a "Nice Car" All of the Lexus cars are "nice." They're great for the over 60 crowd. She loves the DB9. She thinks that I should get one. You should. Send us pictures of it when you do. I don't respect that car much, but if you want one that's what counts. Treat yourself and don't worry about faster, better handling cars if you prefer the "look" or "class" of yours. Some folks drive classic cars because they like classic cars. I'm looking for a MGA Twin Cam for that exact reason. Cheers, RB |

I'm sure that an Evo will help you to make to your
30th. Here's another hint, Donal. You shouldn't have to rely on cars, or anything else material, to get a good kiss from your wife. I don't know how this happened to you, but maybe it's not your fault. Some people just marry the wrong person and still have to feed them "special objects" to keep it going. Ultimately my wife was FAR happier with the card and what I wrote inside than the 6K Bullfrog hot tub I bought her. Your wife is probably far beyond being able to learn from that. 30 years of tuff luck...I can now see why you're so bitter. BTW, did you see the pics of the boat we'll be buying next? RB |
