Yeah, too bad those Japanese bikes utterly rule the world of performance biking, but they're not exactly cheap either. Donal, everything you've said smacks of the 80's. That was when big engines and Harley/Ducati seemed wonderful. Then the Nissan 300 Twin Turbo came out....and everything changed in a day. Then Honda built the NSX and got it to out-handle everything and do it with skinny tires. Hey, Donal....the 80's are calling! R. |

Ducati........ Cheers Marty I dig the Duacti's, Marty. In fact, because I love cars, I pretty much can appreciate most cars. Guys like Donal have no clue. They read magazines and dream about silly cars like the AM. He's so pathetic he thinks there's a pecking order for cars that will elevate his status. He needs to drive a MazdaSpeed3 and then his AM and tell me which one is more fun on a twisty road. Of course the Evo X is more fun than either. BTW, the leather seats in the Evo have suede finished bottoms to hold the driver in place during hard cornering. They are very nicely done. The lavish seats in the AM are...well....lavish. They don't hold a driver in place very well. Donal is a typical consumer dreaming of exotic cars and missing the boat yet again. Soon enough I'll be driving a GT-R. It's a supercar that trounces the AM in every area, including fit & finish. It's about the handling and the way a car feels blasting out of a turn, not who's car gets the spot in front of the Casino. Someday James Donal Bond may learn that, but it won't happen during any "advanced driving course" of course! Oh my! R. |

There you go again!- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - Donal thinks Harley Davidson's marketshare was impacted by the Nissan Twin Turbo of the early nineties. He thinks a DB9 handles like a 911 AWD or Evo X. He's taking driving lessons IN a DB9! And he has no sailboat. I doubt he has a world class handling car either, but he's afraid to say. RB |

Okay, so let's get this straight. The Evo X buyer is getting essentially a bare bones track car that is not very good for daily driving. This makes it much more of a toy compared to other cars, such as a BMW 335xi...as an example. Even a 135 is a FAR better DD than the Evo, but the Evo is still one of the hottest sports cars selling. The Evo buyer can buy the nice BMW, but instead shells out 40K more or less (before tuning and upgrades). This is a cheap car? It forces you to buy at least one other car as a daily driver. My second car cost 32K. My 3rd car costs 22K. My buddy drives a nice Lexus that cost what a loaded Evo costs. He thinks the Evo is rediculously expensive. He's right. You're paying for a lot of engine, suspension and transmission, but the car around it all is a painted cage. That's the philosophy behind the Evo, just like the AM has it's own which is NOT designed to compete with a 911 or Evo X. Donal, you know NOTHING about cars. It's really quite amazing. RB |
