And here's the list that reflects average ratings across
the country: "jeff" wrote Sorry Booby, just yesterday you were ranting about the ratings "in your area" and that ratings for others didn't count. And before that, he was ranting that PHRF was for sissies. .... the only 35s5 that races in your area rates 138 with the fin keel. A Nonsuch 33 races in the same division at 147 (I'm guessing his rating is because he flies a chute). If you add 3 points for your wing keel, 3 points for your A/C, and six points for your small jib, you rate 3 seconds slower than the Nonsuch! Does the 35s5 get an allowance for "class sails" I would think not since that's usually given to one-designs that don't fly 155% genoas. Of course, you could request such a rating adjustment but it probably would not fly. "Scotty" wrote: if you consider who's helming the 35s5s5 , it would add 18 minutes. due to this particular helmsman's proven ability to hit charted rocks? And don't forget the rating adjustment for the dish antennae and the trailing power cord. DSK |

Yeah, Not that bad, as in good enough to beat a 35s5!
It might beat a 35s5, just like my 35s5 might beat a J120. Uh huh. Nonsuch: When 8 knots is just too fast! RB 35s5 NY |

Especially since, as you claim, its so hard for a 35s5 skipper to
sail up to the 138 rating! Jeff, this is yet another one of your lies and I'll prove it. I said that the 35s5 has trouble sailing to it's rating, which is typically 114 to 129. I rarely see 132 and once saw 138, but don't know what was up with those higher number boats. The standard rating for my boat is 129 and it's tough to hit for many sailors. In my area, according to the link I provided, the 35s5 was just dropped from 129 to 126. It's on the link I gave. Sorry. Nonsuch: The Motorsailor's Sailboat. RB 35s5 NY |

BWAHAHAHA!!! You snap at every lame troll! And the funny thing is,
everything I said is true! Capt. Rob wrote: Especially since, as you claim, its so hard for a 35s5 skipper to sail up to the 138 rating! Jeff, this is yet another one of your lies and I'll prove it. I said that the 35s5 has trouble sailing to it's rating, which is typically 114 to 129. I rarely see 132 and once saw 138, but don't know what was up with those higher number boats. They are the ratings (base and adjusted) for the only 35s5 that races in your area. Why is this so hard to understand? I'll give you some help. If they fly a smaller jib (as you often do) they can get +3 or +6 adjustment. If they carry less than the standard crew (9 180 pounders) they could get an adjustment. Its pretty easy to end up with a +9. As I said, the Nonsuch base ratings are without spinnakers but against spinnaker rated boats. If the Nonsuch carries a chute, its rating is adjusted downward. This, BTW, is why NS ratings are so high. The standard rating for my boat is 129 and it's tough to hit for many sailors. I'm sure its very hard for you! But all you're saying is that your real rating should be much higher, perhaps higher than the Nonsuch! In my area, according to the link I provided, the 35s5 was just dropped from 129 to 126. It's on the link I gave. You mean the 4 year old, random page on a personal site? I links I provided are the true YRA LIS ratings as of Aug 31, 2007. Sorry. Actually rather pathetic. Nonsuch: The Motorsailor's Sailboat. But still fast enough to beat a benny. RB 35s5 NY |
