Hey Jon, you left out a couple of stock villains. You didn't mention big
pharma, big tobacco, the Nazis, the Afrikaners, the vast right wing
conspiracy, the fundamentalist Christians, the Muslim radicals .......

You're gonna have to hone your skills if you expect to persuade people the
sky is falling.

I should add that I don't consider Katy to be an idiot. She's a fine person,
just misguided. g

That's ok Jon...I consider you just as misguided so we're even...

No...humans are so short sighted that they ignore the fact

that they
cannot control Mother nature and that the earth is not

static and
changes constatly...the next "theiry" will be that we are

somehow
responsible for the cooling of the sun.

We are, it's all those solar panels using up the sun.

I know. I feel really guilty about the two on my boat.

Thus endeth the reading of the gospel according to Jon.

Max, it's an article of faith with these folks. Challenging their gospel
is
like urging that the Bible is not divinely inspired--you'll never get that
concession from the ultra-devout.

Those running the global warming show are in it for the money and power.
And they depend upon dupes like Jon to buy into their spiel. Fortunately
for them there are plenty like Jon around to fund their chosen lifestyles.

Hmmm..... pot ..... kettle ???

Cheers

You're more articulate than I. Oops... sorry Mundo.

It's Ok for us articulates to call each other articulate, but those
inarticulates better not!

God forbid we should use the 'A' word.

No. It's an article of faith in science. Rightwing nuts have no interest
in facts.

It's an article of faith in what you choose to believe. There is easily as
much science disputing the human-induced global warming theory as that
supporting it. The circumspect will wait until the dust settles a bit
before jumping on any particular bandwagon.

Unfortunately, this is all going to happen in our lifetimes, and certainly
in our kids lifetimes.

Once again we have a liberal here who won't be satisfied until something
substantially awful happens in order to be vindicated. As a series of
cataclysmic events befalls mankind, Jon will be on the precipice of a
bottomless crevasse saying, "Yes, I was right."
