I get it. This is the closest thing this group has to a 'charter' and because it's an 'alt.*' forum it's pretty much at the mercy of entropy as to whether it survives or not, based on traffic and content; and a general consensus of those in the control hierarchy who have the power to delete such things as these gzips that (I'm guessing here) form a 'root thread' of sorts for the newsgroups..
