Default Mr. Scott, we need more power!!!!

Only a foolwould give up US documentation
in favor of registration.

So, how long before you actually sail it?

It was previously documented under Windward

First. The
documentation will lapse as it's going to carry NY Reg only.

Banks
require documentation in most cases.

I would sure like to know why one would let the documention lapse. It's
pretty easy to transfer.

Bart, let's hear why documentation "lapsing" is a problem. It costs 90
dollars to bring it up to date and offers no advantages for a locally
sailed vessel. So, please educate us!

If you don't need a mortgage or don't plan to foreign ports, then there's no
advantage.

Well, you don't have to mess around with unsightly stickers for registration
on your bow...

Bob's afraid we'll find out that it really isn't in his name.

It won't be. Nor are my cars for that matter. Bad idea for independent
contractors who can't write off their cars or boats. Just the same, you
won't find her documented because we paid for her in full.
