Default Mr. Scott, we need more power!!!!

The documentation was "lapsed" as soon as the boat changed hands,
Robert. I
don't see state registration as any sort of advantage, and neither will
the next
potential owner when you sell it in a few years. A transfer of
documentation
while it is still warm is a whole lot simpler than trying to start all
over in a
few years. You can do it yourself by mail, and it will cost about $90.
That's a
one time fee.

Joe, as per my discussion with Hailing Port Services and confirmed with
CG, we can restart the documentation anytime for the same fee. Our
insurance and NY law requires only one. There's not advantage to
carrying both. It has no advantages when sailing local. Alien's
documentation had not been updated in 9 years and was not current.
Didn't matter.
