How can anyone in their right (or left for that matter) mind get that
excited about owning a "bendytoy"? It's certainly an OK boat for lake sailing and coastal cruising. Nothing more and nothing less. But for Christ sakes, give it a rest and grow up. "Capt. RB,
Ok the boat is on its way. . . How long will it be until you actually own it? Matt Colie Capt. Rob wrote: Our 35s5 is now scheduled for delivery this Tuesday at aprox. 1:00 pm. How long will it be until you actually own it? We own it 100%. It was previously documented under Windward First. The documentation will lapse as it's going to carry NY Reg only. Banks require documentation in most cases. Cash deal had some pluses for us and I have enough paperwork each month. RB 35s5 NY |

Only a foolwould give up US documentation
in favor of registration. "Scotty" wrote So, how long before you actually sail it? "Capt. Rob" wrote It was previously documented under Windward First. The documentation will lapse as it's going to carry NY Reg only. Banks require documentation in most cases. |

I would sure like to know why one would let the documention lapse. It's
pretty easy to transfer. -- "j" ganz @@ www.sailnow.com "Bart Senior" .@. wrote in message ... Only a foolwould give up US documentation in favor of registration. The documentation was "lapsed" as soon as the boat changed hands,
Robert. I don't see state registration as any sort of advantage, and neither will the next potential owner when you sell it in a few years. A transfer of documentation while it is still warm is a whole lot simpler than trying to start all over in a few years. You can do it yourself by mail, and it will cost about $90. That's a one time fee. Joe, as per my discussion with Hailing Port Services and confirmed with CG, we can restart the documentation anytime for the same fee. Our insurance and NY law requires only one. There's not advantage to carrying both. It has no advantages when sailing local. Alien's documentation had not been updated in 9 years and was not current. Didn't matter. RB 35s5 NY |
