Mr. Scott, we need more power!!!!
Perhaps there are some fees involved. Swabbie
broke his piggy bank to buy that rubber duck. Obviously he has no judgment--remember the careful research that went into the question of whether he was stupid or lacked judgment? Well it is one and the same as far as he is concerned. Or on the other hand, if he sinks the boat, it won't matter. Perhaps he plans to over-insure it and then sink it when he finds he can't get his money back out of it on a resale. "Capt. JG" wrote I would sure like to know why one would let the documention lapse. It's pretty easy to transfer. "Bart Senior" .@. wrote Only a foolwould give up US documentation in favor of registration. "Capt. Rob" wrote It was previously documented under Windward First. The documentation will lapse as it's going to carry NY Reg only. Banks require documentation in most cases. |

"DSK" wrote Is *that* what you are, Bubbles? An "independent contractor?" Does anybody actually pay you to do whatever it is that you claim to do? He watches TV and counts the number of times a product is shown in commercials. I'm sure most of his data is faked up, as he goofs off all the time. |

"Commodore Joe Redcloud" wrote The documentation was "lapsed" as soon as the boat changed hands, Robert. I don't see state registration as any sort of advantage, and neither will the next potential owner when you sell it in a few years. A transfer of documentation while it is still warm is a whole lot simpler than trying to start all over in a few years. You can do it yourself by mail, and it will cost about $90. That's a one time fee. Much cheaper than starting from scratch which will take months and cost over $300 |

Bob never has a problem with that.
