then "believers" warp it into some sort of proof to support their faith.
One day we'll learn that the bible was just part of a graphic novel and those

Not all, seeing as my "invention" was a mix of real events and is quite common
otherwise.
"Pain and suffering" may not ultimately disprove the existance of god, but they
do show the level of job he/she's been doing. It's almost as if Bush were

already declared that he's agnostic - why would he seek to substantiate a
proposition that he hasn't asserted? The claim that stands to be proven is
that goes does exist, and the onus is on the believers to prove their claim.

Why should non-believers be given more credence than believers?

I think that it is very strange that you will not give any scientific
evidence to back up your position. I've repeatedly given evidence to
support my views.
