Ah-h-h... now I see your problem. You think it's a big confusing job that
requires tons of equipment and paper!

That was forced and you know it... but it was mandatory since Oz is you
offering solace.

| Maybe a course in blinker removal for you so you are open to seeing
| the edges.
| two hundred to three hundred would be an obvious conclusion.
| Your blinkered reading has confused you.

Cue the violins.... if I didn't know better.. I'd think I had Danny Taddei

| Umm not talking about the logs you did for a nav course.
| You were talking about the complete and comprehensive log detailing
| bottom contours for Gods sake on a 50 mile return jaunt in enclosed
| waters.

It wasn't.... these were actual logs from my trips. Several different ones.

| Bwaaaaahahahahahahahahaa!
| What?
| You having some sort of a fit?
| Please oh please show me where I said that keeping a log is
| ridiculous!

It's on the record Oz... I've already shown you examples of your errors in
previous posts and it's becoming tiresome to search down the thread and
post. See if you can't find it for me will you... I believe it was something
to do with you chastising me that I should expect anyone to keep a log in
familiar waters....

| I'm becoming more like Bubbles all the time....seeing your
| fabrications as they are.

The last resort of the lame and cornered... call your opponent a liar!

| When you do calculations for every bottom contour and its effect on
| current for every 100 metres of your trip.....yep, tonnes of paper.

You're reading way to much into my inquiry about bottom contours.... like
Bob you probably think you have to actually dive down and map it... that was
just too funny!

Don't you verify if the charted depth conforms with your depth sounder
readings at regular intervals Oz???

| Hey Mooron. 'twas not I with the comprehension problem!
| Anyone who reads two to three hundred at two only to three hundred is
| suffering.

Oz... anyone that actually is stupid enough to fall for that is way dumber
than the one who posted it. Even Bob didn't bother to reply. Seems like
you're fixated aren't ya?!! Danny Boy! Ha Ha Ha

My depth sounder only reads to 500'. At 1.5 miles offshore I'm in over
500' of water depth. How can I chart the bottom contours?

Draw a straight line, label it 500' then draw a hideous sea monster under
it.

Dear Over My Head,
This is a common problem for coastal sounders used in deep water. I suggest
you upgrade to a larger more powerful professional grade unit. If this
proves not practical just use your advanced knowledge of seastate to confirm
your multiple GPS, Sextant and Dead Reckoning Plots. Once you return to the
continental shelf your cheapo coastal unit will once again provide
confirmation of correct seafloor contours. I have toyed with the idea of
using powerful underwater speakers and a sound system approaching the power
generated by the unit currently on Bob's boat "Alien"... this could be
utilized to scramble the sonar array on passing subs. Once they surface to
investigate the cause you can inquire as to the actual depths as they board
your vessel. Good Luck and Fair Winds.
