I would never consider marrying a fat woman.
My opinion of women who marry morbidly obese men is a low one. I view it as similar to a man in his thirties marrying a teenage girl. There is something defective in the brain of either one that causes them to act in a destructive manner. I've known a handful of fat women and NONE were well-adjusted people. For the most part they were all miserable creatures who ate to escape and the more they ate the more they could not escape from their eating. It just seems to me that if one is living alone on a desert island and one wanted to pig out and become obese then that's OK with me. But, when people have relationships with others whom they profess to love and they are obese then the relationship is doomed to failure because premature death always hurts a loved one very badly. Why voluntarily put yourself in that situation? I figure I have a right to judge someone and anyone who is engaging in destructive behavior. Allowing oneself to be morbidly obese is bad enough but those who enable such behavior are actually worse. If you really love somebody you don't allow them to commit slow suicide. "katysails" wrote in message ... Katy, would YOU marry a morbidly obese man? I wouldn't know, having never been with a morbidly obese man. I would hope that I would not be so shallow as to base my judgment of a person only on their physical attributes. What is your opinion of women who do? I've known some very nice, intelligent, gentle obese people who have made a difference in the world. Once again, everyone chooses their partners for different reasons. Who am I to judge someone else's choice? And for that matter, who are you to judge? Enquiring minds wish to know. It's nice to see that you are at least trying to make a vestige of an attempt to understand real people. You must be very young Simon, else you'd know that most of the "beauties" seen in classic paintings would be considered obese today. I'll bet you don't remember the ad's that showed the 198 pound weakling being abused by "real men" until he wised up and took their body-building course. And none other than Ben Franklin advised men to marry young (teen) women after having made their fortune, hmmm. I've known a handful of fat women and NONE were well-adjusted people.... That's because our sexually repressive society brainwashed them to believe sex is sinful, so they become fat to avoid it. It just seems to me .... Question is, when is someone obese. My MD thinks I'm obese cuz I weigh 240 and am barely 6' tall. In fact he knows I am obese cuz his chart says so - you know the one he got from the diet drug company. Never mind that my body fat content is so low I'm a "sinker". Folks in beautiful downtown Compton, Ca. (Just south of Watts) have a name for men who weigh less than 200 pounds. They call them "victims". So, it just seems to me that any male weighing less otta get with the program ... right? (c: |

I don't talk to fatties like you who think they
aren't fat. At least Mike admits he is obese. Keep denying you are obese all the way to your grave. Fat is bad enough. Stupid and fat is a deadly combination. "Vito" wrote in message ... Stupid and fat is a deadly combination. You're right! Question is "who is in denial?" Simple test: do you float? If so, you're fatter than I am cuz I sink - clear to the bottom if I don't swim. That's cuz bone and muscle are heavier than water but fat is lighter. BTW skinny folks don't live longer - life just seems longer to them. (c: |

Stupider than I thought. What about lung capacity?
What about gas in the intestine? What about bone mass? The float test measures specific gravity and that's it. Specific gravity has little to do with percent of fat in the body. I sink if I let all the air out of my lungs. I happen to have huge lung capacity and if I fill my lungs it takes twenty pound of dive weights to sink me. Measure your neck if it is bigger than 37cm you likely are obese. My neck is 35.5 cm. What's yours? From: http://www.obesityresearch.org/cgi/c...stract/9/8/470 Discussion: NC measurement is a simple and time-saving screening measure that can be used to identify overweight and obese patients. Men with NC 37 cm and women with NC 34 cm are not to be considered overweight. Patients with NC 37 cm for men and 34 cm for women require additional evaluation of overweight or obesity status. ![]() Vito is one of those New York wops who needs it twice with plenty of Vaseline before they get it. What is the circumference of your neck at its smallest point?
