Default I can't wait for Wednesday...

....so that the only news Sarah Palin will make will be during her
resignation as Alaska's governor because of ethical reasons.

Gad, this woman is the most uninformed, bigoted, lying bitch on the
American political scene *ever*. She makes Fanny Foxe seem a decent woman.

Bye, bye Sarah...

The state she governs is filled with her type, male and female. There
are probably many Republicans who consider her to be a liberal. Her
husband was tied to the Alaska Independence Party and she sent a
recorded speech to their convention last year. It's little bits like
that that get her elected.

A woman friend told me there was a saying for women who go to Alaska:
"The odds are good, but the goods are odd!" Plenty of men for each woman,
but they might be outlaws and other things...

If she resigned as governor it would be to take Steven's seat if he
got reelected ... and the Marion Barry effect might let that happen

Actually he is still very popular and more then likely will be
reelected. His lifelong accomplishments have enriched Alaska. His
perfidy while corrupt and unacceptable has harmed no one. Alaska still
wants his seniority and political power.

Alaskans are used to getting a check for several thousand bucks every
year from oil companies. They are not shocked that Stevens got a
little mungo from a huge oil company project..

The issue wasn't the bribes, but that he didn't properly report them on
his federal forms. If there is any justice in Alaska, Ms. Palin is going
to find herself in similar hot water over the construction of her house,
though the charges against her will be state, not federal.

If every politician who got a favor from someone was removed they
would not be able to raise a quorum in any legislative body in the
country.

The advantage for Palin here is that in 4 years this will all be old
news. I still say this was just a way to clean out her closet with
very little to lose. The odds of a republican winning the white house
were slim this time, no matter who they ran. She may be the most
vetted politician in the country right now and in the grand scheme of
things, they didn't find much. The real question will be in how she
acts from now on.
If I was her I would get a better grasp on how the federal government
works. Some of her "the VP runs the Senate" lines were just dumb.
Nothing would do that better than a job at the capitol.

Perhaps she can run the shoeshine stand there.

There's a Senator up for election in 2010
