If I was her I would get a better grasp on how the federal government
works. Some of her "the VP runs the Senate" lines were just dumb.
Nothing would do that better than a job at the capitol.
There's a Senator up for election in 2010
I think there will be a vacancy as soon asStevens' appeals are
exhausted
You're assumingStevenswill win re-election.

I hope everyone is aware that the juror who was dismissed from Stevens

Gosh, gosh, gosh...I hope the Republicans are dumb enough to run Palin
at the top of their ticket in 2012. She will be an unmitigated disaster.

I'd almost pay to see her in a debate with Hillary then watch it turn
into a catfight!

First question: "what do you read?"

What do I read? *Many books and articles thank you.

I even read your question to me.

Not hardly. Why do you wish to know what I read?

You postulated a debate between Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin,
Boater got it, you didn't.

I bet Hillary doesn't run in 2012. If Obama is successful he will be
coronated by the democratic party in 2012. If he fails the democrats
will probably be "out" for 12 more years like what happened after
Carter. Hillary will not want to be a part of that. I bet she retires
in the senate ... not a bad gig.

My guess is that she is already planning a run for Governor of NY.
That would certainly strengthen her 2012 presidential aspirations - if
she still has any.

Hillary will never run for any other office except Senator of NY. She
can't chance being run through the wringer again. The best she can do is
trade on what she appears to have done for the State of NY.

She has done well as a NY senator, and is wildly popular there. She
could probably be governor if that's what she decides to do. She would
be VERY difficult to beat. I doubt she feels she's been run through
any wringers. Shes pretty tough, and I doubt there has been anyting
that has happened that would discourage her in the least. Her
situation in NY is entirely disconnected to how she is viewed
elsewhere.- Hide quoted text -

Yes, she is one of the very few NY senators to ever give a crap about
the rural southern tier part of the state. That part is quite
republican but they like her because of the business and farming
incentives she's created to help them.

Boater, aka Harry Krause, besides being a hero and body finder in Vietnam
and the master of seamanship in any vessel, is also one who knows all.

Just ask him. He is easily able to determine exactly what is meant in a
poorly phrased response.

I'm hoping Palin is so mired in ethical problems, she'll remain stuck in
Alaska.

If we don't hear anything else I doubt the problems she had will have
any staying power at all. They pretty much disposed of trooper gate ,
she had the right to fire Monetary and since Wooden is still working
that is not going to be around much longer.
The travel evidence issues are trivial too. Someone will point out one
trip or two in that jet she sold would have cost more than all the
kiddie and per diem expenses combined. Bottom line is she was still a
lot cheaper to move around than her predecessor. That was always her
claim.

I bet she is still OK in Alaska and that is all it takes to be elected
senator

I think her "big" problem is producing receipts for the contractors who
worked on her house. They were the same contractors who worked on the
sports arena down the street, and at the same time.

actually before. And this latest "exoneration" is not quite within the
boundaries of Alaskan law.

These guys were supposed to be buddies with Todd. I imagine it would
be easy to say he traded snow machine tricks for drywall tricks. I
doubt that gets much traction. Nobody is going to care in 5 hours

... or you and Salty are going to have a bad night *;-)

I really don't have a dog in this fight. I still like the idea *of
Obama/Palin (or Palin/Obama if something happens to John next year).
I share the opinion Doris Kearns Goodwin has about how well things
worked out for the presidents who were forced to work closely with
people who disagreed with them. Lincoln is her favorite example.

DKG the plagiarist?
its amazing how she's lived that down

Why would she want to be demoted to Senator?

More leverage (see T. Stevens), a learning curve for 2012, Senator is
the stepping stone for the 21st C.
