If you want to **** them off so badly that they rape you to death this
is probably a good tactic.

I think there was a bit more to it than that. It was a big, fast
ship which used the weapon, along with its size and speed, to evade
the attack....and still got hit with an RPG round. I can't imagine
those tactics would be as successful with a smaller, slower
craft....at least not as effective as a couple .50 cals or Mk-19s.
