replacement and had previously been suspended and investigated for sexual
harassment. It became an issue and he resigned. In the meantime, the
questions about Monegan's firing became public. Besides the visibility,
firing Wooton might have been problematic as he was a member of the
Police Union.

It's too bad McPalin is working so hard to avoid meeting with the media
in news conference venues...there are *so* many questions the pair are
avoiding, and the latest out of Alaska would be interesting.
