I'd bet things are much more rough for mom, who has to perform duties that Loogy can't handle! Yep! At least we all got some sleep last night. My daughter didn't want to brave the stairs so she slept on the family room couch. I didn't want to leave her down there alone so I slept on an air mattress next to her in case she needed anything. Today is a day for golf with Bert and another friend at the Quantico Marine Corps Base 'Medal of Honor Course'. The temp is a little cool for boating, but just right for hunting balls in the woods and creeks at Quantico. If the weather there is like it is here, it'll be great! On Monday we will put in just north of Reagan National Airport and cruise up the Potomac up to the new (to me) riverside shops and restaurants in Georgetown for brunch. Then we'll do some sightseeing back down the Potomac and up the Anacostia River to see if the cleanup has actually done any good. It's always interesting to see what boats are tied up at the Washington Navy Yards. How far of a trailer haul is that for you? It's been at least twenty years since we've done the DC sightseeing bit by boat, so I'm looking forward to it. And you...? -- John *H* You know what I'm doing! Actually, I'm trying to think of something that my girl could at least semi enjoy. We had a day planned at the Georgia Aquarium with friends. I'm urging my wife and son to still go, he's been a very good kid through all of this and there's no reason for him to not be able to do the things he loves. I don't know what happened to her, but it obviously doesn't sound good. But ont he other flip, it sounds like she's in good hands and looking forward to recovery. Not meaning to rant but, eh..... My weekend? Well when gas shot up to unafordable amounts, it ruined my trip to Kansas which I had been wanting to do for the last 5 years, and that was to celebrate the Memorial service for my Great uncle who was gassed in the trenches in WW1. I'd always wanted to put a wreath on his stone and attend services there, but thats out. PLUS my daughter is graduating HS tomorrow night. she'll be the last one out of the nest, then off to college this fall. PLUS wife had her second dose of "keeeemo" this past monday that she made it though the baccalaurate service yesterday (wed) but is really weak and graduation is friday night. so.... But the good news is that my son is wife and bambino are coming up for the daughters graduation. and that will make a lot of things worth while. Gas prices have urged us to buy bicycles for the local grocery and library trips, and to get the motorcycle out and cranked up. Congratulations to the daughter! -- John *H* |

Send it to jherring at cox dot net. Then I'll be sure to get it. The motorcycle is a Moto Guzzi, Mille GT, 1989. I love it. -- John *H* |
