Harry asserts that his name was "removed from the list". Not that I am a fan of harry's, but I don't see why Harry owes you or anybody else an explanation. ================================== He once told me that he had a college deferment and that kept him off the list for that time. That was the case with a lot of people at the time, including my district manager. And, you know what? I don't blame them one damn bit!! I would have avoided that war as quickly as anyone. Our Idiot-in-Chief took us into one of the worst wars imaginable and the expected the youth of the country to go fight it. And for what?? There was no winner, only a lot of losers..... Yep...I was II-S for a while. But then I graduated, and my draft status changed to I-A. But then...fate intervened. I certainly never "dodged" the draft. Harry, did you not earlier say that only the stupid got drafted? Dear Dumb John: You got drafted, right? Your question, therefore, is asked and answered. It must suck to be so embarrassed that you have to snip three-fourths of a post before replying. -- ***** Hope your day is better than decent! ***** John H He was deferred, reclassified 1A,dropped off the list, and blessed by a twist of fate. Seems like he went to a lot of trouble to stay home with the girls. And now he finally declares that he is not a draft dodger. I guess we should believe him. Eh. Harry wouldn't lie, would he? |
