ROTFLMAO!!!!

Oh wait - your serious.

Only 17F at the moment on my backyard thermometer. Might as well live in
Minnesota.

23.7 F - move on up - life's a beach here in NE.

Did you check the "guys" union cards before they picked up a screw
driver or a wrench?

Give us a report after you have a few miles on it. I am interested in your
initial reaction.
Speaking of that ... I have to go downstairs and use mine. I've shifted my
routine a bit. This morning was a "heavy" day with the weights and I wait
until the evening to do the cardiovascular stuff because my legs get pretty
sore from doing the leg workouts and deadlifts.

Hardly. I don't have enough time left on this earth. Weight lifting is a
highly recommended exercise in addition to a cardiovascular workout to
increase your metabolic rate and helps to stabilize your weight with less
body fat and more (heavier) lean muscle. At least that's the current
theory.

I got about three minutes into it when my knees said, "F you, Charlie!"
The rest of me felt pretty good. It's going to take me a while to work my
way into it. But I like the machine. It is very smooth and there's enough
going on to maintain my attention.

If your knees can handle the treadmill, they should be able to handle the
elliptical, but the motion is different and it takes some time to get used
to. I found that little or minimal resistance settings are worse than a
moderate amount. Too little and my coordination and timing gets messed up.

Little bit each day ...

I don't want to rain on your parade, but I predict by the end of April you
won't be using it regularly, June hardly at all, and by fall it will have
stuff piled up on it. Then you will be reduced to using it on Jan. 1st. for
a few years before it goes to the yard sale. Nothing personal, but you have
just bought yourself a guilt machine without knowing it. As soon as you get
on it you will think of something else you really should be doing.
P.S. Don't put the nautilus in a location that the couch can be seen when
exercising.

Been there, done that.

I'll bet these exercise machines are a lot like boats; for every time
one sells new the exact same unit will sell 4-5 times used. :-)

Over 50 degrees today in Seattle. Varnish weather! Our winter is all
but over.
Bad news, of course, is that it will warm up about another 5 degrees
between now and July. :-)
