I am going to worry about $100 a year in difference in costs? My way works
fine. Add acid via a bottle of pool muriatic acid. Get 4 gallons for about
$9. Last me 6 months.

What does ACID have to do with anything?? The point (that you can't
grasp, imagine that!) is this: When you add CYA, your chlorine demand
goes up. Do this long enough, and you'll be fighting algae, cruddy
water, and risking the health of swimmers because you'll be adding the
same amount of chlorine, but the demand is higher because the CYA is
higher. Get it NOW? $50k pool, huh? Bull****! An olympic size pool
isn't $50k!! My in-laws just replastered there pool..... $7k.
Again, the $100 difference you speak of isn't the point.

My wife's company charges $60,000 for a pool that you can barely turn
you ass around in. (20x15 or so)
That is attached to a $500,000 house. It does include the screen cage.

I paid $4500 to plaster (Florida Gem) my 15x30 pool and that was
straight to the guy doing the work, contractor's price. (3 years ago)

the 60's or 70's. Here is a

I'll bet Bill's isn't that big, the back yards in CA aren't big enough

Actually $23k this last year. There are different ways of replaster. Sand
blast and a plaster coating or removal down to the Gunite and replastering.
Hell, my tile work and coping is probably $2k. Get a life *asskisser

And your $35k pool is not a gunite pool and not in California. My pool is
32x16 kidney shaped pool. And I have a rather nice sized backyard. Actual
plasterer cost is $2400, then you have the removal of old plaster cost, some
remodel costs, to run different return lines, some replacement of old copper
in ground pipe, some new electrical lines. A thousand here, a thousand
there, and pretty soon you are talking real money. What is your house worth
in Snellvile? What does a vinyl pool cost in Atlanta?

You can get above ground pools very cheaply, and you do see them in the
cheaper neighborhoods and trailer parks.

I paid almost $12K for Diamond Brite with new tile and brick (coping)
three years ago. It wasn't the cheapest price, but I would rather spend
a bit more for a good job from a reputable company.

$50K to replace a pool doesn't sound that high. A new pool would be
significantly less without the added costs of hauling out the old pool.

about

Actually $23k this last year. There are different ways of replaster. Sand
blast and a plaster coating or removal down to the Gunite and replastering.
Hell, my tile work and coping is probably $2k. Get a life *asskisser

Just like clock work! Every time I prove you don't know what you're
talking about, you start that childish name calling. You've failed
miserably to answer my above questions, once again proving you don't
know what you're talking about.

First, Bill has stated here before that his pool was built either in
the 60's or 70's. Here is a

20x40 for 35k:

I'll bet Bill's isn't that big, the back yards in CA aren't big enough
to put it in with property line setbacks.

And your $35k pool is not a gunite pool and not in California. My pool is
32x16 kidney shaped pool. And I have a rather nice sized backyard.

Show us!

Actual
plasterer cost is $2400, then you have the removal of old plaster cost, some
remodel costs, to run different return lines, some replacement of old copper
in ground pipe, some new electrical lines. A thousand here, a thousand
there, and pretty soon you are talking real money.

OH, so NOW all of a sudden the term "replaster" means doing plumbing
and electrical work too??? Nice try. Once again, proved to the world
you don't know what you're talking about, or are lying.

What is your house worth
in Snellvile?

I don't live in Snellville.

What does a vinyl pool cost in Atlanta?

Depends on size, shape, options, etc. My neighbor's inground concrete
pool, with splash over spa, fiber optic lights, all of the bells and
whistles, was around 15k. My rectangular was 12k.
