Instead of placing blame on anyone, let's just chill out and assume that
everyone is interested in a less confrontation group. If we all
ignore anyone who comes into the group looking for a ****ing contest,
those who really come here for trash talk will get bored and move on.


If only that were true. The worst offenders were here when I arrived,
and those same loonies are still here, still doing the same things.
They won't (can't?) control their behavior, and there's no reason to
think that we can control them, either.

I've tried in the past to strike a "cease-fire" with Don, but he would
never agree. After that I took a hiatus from the NG, but as soon as I
posted a couple of times, he (and others I never addressed) started
the attacks. As I read the NG during my posting absence, it was clear
that even though several people attempted to clean it up, nothing
changed.

I'll sign on and give it a try... again. But you watch and see. The
same people again will be the ones who will not agree to change, and
will be the first to cross the line... again. They aren't boaters,
they just want to insult and argue. This NG *today* is the NG *they*
want.
