I've noticed that the chevy merc bell housings have a number of extra holes. I don't know how many different engine blocks they bolt up to besides the standard chevy so I can't say if they are the same ones used on the merc 4 cylinder. The 3.7 is the one merc made? Not the chevy 4, right? In any case nothing changes on the transom, it's just the bell housing. But you will need Y pipes and complete exhaust systems. Plus all the cooling stuff. If you buy complete merc v6's then it should be pretty simple. If you are going to rebuild a couple v6s and put them in you are going to be hunting down brackets, mounts, and other stuff. On the plus side a lot of that stuff is the same as the v8's. I'd hunt for some donor boats if I was trying to do this. out drives will probably be ok, but you're bell housings, mounts, exhaust , plumbing will all be different. sounds to me like a change [quoted text clipped - 16 lines] Message posted via BoatKB.com http://www.boatkb.com/Uwe/Forums.aspx/boats/200609/1 Well after talking to a few marine pro's. the choice is to go with a rebuld of my engine. should be much cheaper.thanks for everyones input. -- A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work peace skip Message posted via http://www.boatkb.com |
