If you are dealing with WM in Cape Coral, I have found them to be very
helpful in resolving product issues. Garmin has lots of satisfied
customers.

That said, I have a Furuno Navnet system on my flybridge which I
bought mail order from pyacht.com. It has been flawless so far after
more than a year of being exposed to the elements and 6,000 miles of
cruising.

There have been some threads on THT recently discussing Garmin display
issues. Apparently it's a very widespread problem. As a last resort the
Garmin faithful have recommended going to Purple Cow for a protective film
for the display. That seems to solve the problem, at least in the near
term.

If I was replacing I'd consider a Lowrance. Seems that a much better screen
resolution is available for a lot less $$$??
