Default Garmin Quality?

I can't think of a company with better products or better service. No one is
flawless (except maybe you and I) so let them know you are unhappy and I
think they will go out of their way to take care of you.

Seems to me that the Subject would be better put as "Garmin problem" or "GPS
unit problem" until you have gone thru all the necessary steps to resolve
your problem.

Please excuse my brashness but I don't normally stand up for a company like
this. I do think you are jumping the gun on the company.

no apologies necessary. i too have been loyal to them for years and find
it distressing that such quality issues are occuring now. speaking with
the WM 'electronics guy', he mentioned a friend of his has two of the
same unit in his boat and has had each one replaced 6 times. a total of
12 units 'bad'. this appears to be more than one isolated bug. assuming
he is not lieing, which i doubt he is, i have dealt with WM in my town
since they opened, it points more back to quality, thus my original
subject line.

i;ve come to depnd and prefer garmin based on previous experience. heck,
still use my Garmin 12 when in flight training, in addition to using it
as a backup while boating. it is not elegant or sophisticated as some
newer toys, but it gets me home when i needed it.
