I *did* buy a new toy Thursday however.

Unbelievable car. Driver programable settings of suspension damping,
throttle response, transmission shifts (manual 7 speed transmission, but no
clutch pedal) and two selectable engine power outputs, 400 hp and 500 hp.
I'll never be able to drive this car to it's performance capabilities unless
I take it to one of the BMW performance driving schools.

That's an option I didn't get. Problem is, I have become a very
conservative driver as time passes, rarely going over the speed limit. I
took it for a ride on Rt 3 towards the Cape yesterday and, while
accelerating on to the highway and shifting manually, I suddenly realized I
was in fifth of the seven gears and doing over 90 mph. There really is no
sensation of speed.
