Naw. You're one of the good guys. Enjoy it. Is that the Bimmer with the
V10 and 500 hp? Hehehe.
I told my wife last night we *needed* a Porsche Cayman S. She just laughed
at me.
Oh well.
That's the one. Redlines at 8,200 RPM. I am required to put 1200 miles of
easy driving on it to break in the engine, transmission and tires. At 1200
miles the dealer changes all fluids and you are good to go for the next
15,000 miles. I had to laugh when I was instructed as to the break in
requirements, confirmed by the owner's manual and a sticker on the
windshield. During the first 1200 miles you are supposed to avoid full
throttle starts, engine RPM's over 5,500 and speeds over 107 mph, although
an occasional burst to 137 mph for short periods of time is ok. Right. What
blows my mind is that the engine develops 500 hp (actually 507) without the
benefit of a turbo.
We looked at the Porsche Cayman turbo a year or so ago and one of our
friends in Florida had one. The only problem with it was that the
performance tires are so soft and gooey that they have to be replaced every
8-12 months.
