Oh well in that case: good luck with your education.

Strong return argument Len.

Much stronger than the one you offered in rebuttal of his facts.

You actually managed to get us back on topic....:)
I'm thinking when all goes well and after say 4 years the admiral and
me have done a fair amount of offshore cruising (baltic, caribbean,
south pacific, australia) we might make a tour to the Great Lakes.
Guess only a few Europeans do that...

Regards, Len.

Len, there are thousands of Europeans that cruise the Great Lakes every
year.
www.greatlakescruising.com Check this site for some of the most enjoyable
cruising ships in the world. If you bring your own boat over to Canada,
you can enter the St.Lawrence Seaway all the way to the Great Lakes. Many
from Europe do this also. I have seen boats from Australia in the North
Channel of Lake Huron when I was cruising the area.

I agree. What you presented are not fact.

And your evidence is? What process did you employ to arrive at this
conclusion?

Len, rhetorical art is no longer recognized here in the US. It requires
too much brain function.

So you Canadians really are "blessed", in every aspect so far :)
No wonder every day three farmers or lorrydrivers quit their
business/job over here and emigrate to the land with the Maple Leaf.
There sure must be a lot of dutchmen over there...

Sorry I asked that question, Jim. I appreciate your open answer a lot.
Whenever my wife or I arrive at that roadbend, we'll no doubt do the
same thing... I am very glad to live in a country where it's possible.

Warm regards, Len.

Oh I agree totally, of course. But I am convinced mr Gorbatsjow is an
extraordinary erudite and civilised man and therefore would never
give negative comments in public about a deceased collegue. No one
with a good upbringing would (yes you're right indeed: except me). But
I think when you ask him unexpectedly he will feel embarassed cause it
forces him to think fast and come up with something that makes the
ridiculity vanish of a man with no credits, -other than being a B-film
actor with a mediocre IQ-, becoming president of the us.

But tell me, what was wrong with the series of facts I summed up?

Sigh.
Fact: Reagan was accidentally in office when a true leader like
Gorbatsjow entered the circustent.
Fact: It was Gorbatsjow bringing Glasnost and Perestrojka
Fact: It was Gorbatsjow who caused things to happen. Reagan-fans tend
to place the emphasis on Reagan but please, gimme a break Gorbatsjow
was the only one capable of setting things in motion.
Fact: Reagan started serious overspending to please the campaign
supporting industries (Star Wars).
Fact: simultaneously: large tax reduction that would (in his advisors
dreams) would deminish the deficit. "Supply side economics", remember?
AKA Voodoo economics.
Fact: the remaining large deficit still exists and the rich became
richer.
Fact: The rep's won't raise taxes
Fact/deduction: therefore the democrats wil have to raise taxes to
lessen the risk of a totally bankrupted american economy.
Fact: By devaluation of the dollar the whole world pays for the
expensive evangelical risk-game of mr Bush.
(excuse me for adding a biased term in the end of the last sentence)

Regards, Len.

Hi jps,
Thanks. I want the US of my youth back....
Tell me, what did become of the nice americans like BJ Hunnicut,
Hawkeye and Sherman Potter in Mash 4077? It looks like the Frank
Burns-character and the paranoid intelligence-officer whose name
slipped my mind is being cloned every few minutes.

But then again I also want the Holland of my youth back.
Guess it's me.... I can't keep up with time.... I guess that's why my
wife and I are tossing off and go cruising in 1,5 years....
But we are going to have FUN.... :)
And... I sure hope to make a LOT of new american friends on the
way....
And cuban, and german, and arabic, and ...

Regards, Len.
