What a jackass you are.

You're just listing postal abbreviations, Dennis. There are other

valid
state abbreviations. But, then, you're not particularly literate, eh?

No actually I posted State abbreviations Krause.

I doubt you'd know the difference, Dennis. There are postal
abbreviations, which, sadly, are fairly generally accepted (because the
USPS uses them), and there are the older, more traditional abbreviations
for state names. In fact, there are several sets of state name
abbreviations that are extant. The name of my home state has been
abbreviated Ct., and Conn., and CT. The latter is the USPS abbreviation,
but the others are still in use.

Of course, a small-minded, undereducated asswipe like you wouldn't know
about the niceties of language.

Earth to Krause....the abbreviations I listed are accepted abbreviations

for
the States. There may be others, but I never said there weren't.

You and asskisser enjoy fighting windmills.....2 peas in a pod....indeed.

NY is an acceptable abbreviation for the state of New York.

Uh, no, it isn't. It is two seperate words, dumbass.

Gee, someone better tell the Postal Service! What will they do

with
all
that mail?

As I said before, you stupid fool, the Postal Service uses NY as a
STATE CODE. It isn't an abbreviation.

Sure. You just keep telling yourself that. Anything to silence the

voices
in your head, right?

As a point of order, there is a difference between the postal
abbreviations and what were once called the "official" state

abbreviations.

The postal abbreviation for Maryland is MD.
The official state abbreviation is Md.

If I recall, N.Y is the official abbreviation for New York state.

I rarely use state abbreviations in my for-real writing. I find them
inelegant.

So, I'd spell out Florida, not abbreviate it Fla. Or even FL.

Inelegant, you say? This is a newsgroup, I say! So who cares?

The real point of order is that basskisser tried to slam my use of the
postal abbreviation, "NY", as a spelling error. What a hoot! Meanwhile,

he
is using the word "except" when he means "accept"...and then trying to

pass
it off as a typo.

I know it's hard watching "one of your own" crash and burn on a regular
basis, but the guy's stupidity is indefensible.

See he http://www.acronymfinder.com/stateabbreviations.asp

What a dunce. Your own link says that NY is the proper postal service
abbreviation for New York. The old style abbreviation was N.Y.

Holy ****, NOYB, I'll say this one more ****ing time, in hopes it
sinks into whatever **** happens to be in place of brain matter in
your stupid head. The postal codes are NOT proper abbreviations. What
did they use prior to this day, 7/01, in, I think, 1963? Did they not
have abbreviations before then? If you were capable of a little
research, you'd find out just why the postal service decided to make
up POSTAL CODES, as opposed to using the abbreviations.

Thanks for proving my point, Kevin.
Your link shows that N.Y is the "old style abbreviation".
Try going to the official State of NY website, see which abbreviation is
used there.

And, Kevin missed the 2nd period. After the Y. But he also probably cut
2nd period in school when they taught grammar.
