Your boat is up for the season now, right, Herring? Up for the season?? The big wind season is just starting here. Anyone who calls himself a sailor has been waiting for this. The 'skipper' that I crewed with in years past called. He's all excited about getting back into a 36 footer. yesterday he picked me up in his new Mercedes 4 seater convertible to go look at a boat in a club across the harbour. I tried to convince him to look at something a bit smaller with a big cockpit because of his need to invite too many people along to wine & dine on our sails. He's spending too much time stateside selling clothing. It's always...'gotta go bigger' mentality where the true Maritimer would scheme to get the most use/enjoyment out of the least expense. |

Harry,
Wasn't that you who said you were contemplating selling YoHo due to the high cost of fuel? I am sure it is archived in Google. "Harry Krause" wrote in message ... Anyone who calls himself a sailor has been waiting for this. I believe Herring said he had taken up golf, because he didn't want to pay for gasoline for his boat. I thought that pretty funny, because when he does go out, he rarely "boats" more than a few miles from the entrance of the harbor he uses. Probably burns five gallons per trip. -- - - - George W. Don't forget all the gas he guzzles with that yellow V8 Ford Mustang. If he traded that for a Camray or Accord, he could boat to his hearts delight. |

Starbuck, Since you haven't filtered Harry, please, a favor for those of us who have; Don't quote his response. He'll know what you're talking about. Thanks. Mike Amen -- John H "All decisions are the result of binary thinking." |

![]() "*JimH*" wrote in message ... .............I guess I am not like the grasshopper ( http://tinyurl.com/ds5ss ). Although I hate to discuss winterizing now I was wondering if anyone used one of these ( http://tinyurl.com/d69nj ) to flush and winterize their engine(s). They retail for over $50. I was thinking of making my own (I already have the hose and 5 gallon plastic tank). For an extra $5 in parts I am in business. I have always drained my engine(s) in the past then filled them with a 50/50 or so mix of antifreeze and water poured through the thermostat housing. Is this ( http://tinyurl.com/d69nj ) setup easier or any more reliable? If so, how does it work? I cannot believe how this on topic thread was immediately taken OT. Anyway..........back to the original question: Has anyone used this setup or is it just easier to drain the engine then draw a 50/50 antifreeze/water mix via muffs from a 5 gallon pail? |
