Codes & standards were different in the 1970s & 1980s, most original wiring & electrical equipment will not have aged well... then you have modification & additions made by previous owners, which may be poorly done. Another issue which isn't a big expense but is definitely a lot of trouble, is replacing the plexiglass & rubber seals on ports & hatches.
