Go to Yachtworld.com and run a search for some 50-foot Krogens. IMO, that
represents the minimum type of vessel that one should consider for transoceanic crossings in a powerboat. Pricing will be evident. When conditions are favorable or ideal, a smaller boat would suffice, but don't count on conditions always being ideal or favorable. One of the mfgrs just did a circumnavigation in a 40-foot trawler, and admitted it was something of a stunt. Yeah, yeah, you're going to hear about the guys who went from LeHavre to Nassau on a tea crate, etc.......but just because some other fool went over Niagara Falls in a barrel doesn't mean everybody with an empty barrel should try their luck. |
