Man killed in boating accident

LAKE VIEW, Iowa (AP) -- A man was killed after he was cut by a boat
propellor on a northwest Iowa lake.

Wesley Eugene Head, 22, of Dow City, was standing at the back of a boat on
Black Hawk Lake Friday evening when he lost his balance as the boat shifted
in gear, said officials with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.

He was cut on the leg by the propellor, the DNR said.

People at the scene tried to resuscitate Head, who was taken by
helicopter
to Loring Hospital in Sac City, where he later died.

The investigation was continuing.




Always sad to hear of stuff like this. It will remind me why I keep
turning off the boat when folks are not fully inside the boat.
