Man killed in boating accident

Quit posting this crap. Some idiot is going to sue outboard and stern

drive
manufacturers and require prop guards on all props...which should really
screw up already poor fuel economy on boats.

Would it really screw up fuel economy ? If anything, I would think
it would make it more like a jet drive, wouldn't it ?

Another good reason to consider fitting a boat with a kortz nozzle.
Running the prop within a circular frame directs more of the thrust
parallel to the keel and there is less energy wasted pushing water
"sideways". This should have a positive effect on fuel economy and
range

Side benefit, (awful pun) could be some protection for swimmers,
manatees, etc. I would think that most prop-related deaths and injuries
involve contact with the edge of the blades rather than contact with
the face or hub of the prop.

We don't get a lot of prop injuries in the Pac NW. 52-degree water
tends to discourage swimmers. :-)
