Re-election? He was never elected.


According to the rules in place at the time he was elected and received a
majority of the electoral vote. Some wanted to change the rules in Florida at
that time but were overruled by the supreme court right or wrong.

We would not even be having this discussion if Gore had carried his home state
of Tennessee. I have often wondered why the voters of Tennessee rejected their
own boy. What did they know that the rest of us don't?

We will never know.

Maybe.Another reality was, though, that Gore had been away from his home
state for eight years while he was VP (by away, I mean relatively
uninvolved in its political affairs), and while he was gone the crazy
Christians and their henchmen, the right-wing GOPers, had taken over the
state with their simple-mindedness. Gore should have paid more attention
to what has happening in his home state, though...no doubt about it.
