DSK You watch how NOYB changes his tune if people start taking the trek to Mexico for cheap dental care along with a vacation. You think Mexican water can make you sick? Try putting Mexican dental instruments in your mouth! There are people who go to Mexico for cheap dental care now. I know, because I've seen them here after-the-fact to correct the atrocities committed in their mouths. Seems he doesn't have any problem with computer tech jobs going offshore, we'll see how it is with offshore medical care. Course, by the time it starts happening, it will be to late. Lets see Mr High and mighty squeal when he's competing with Mexican dentists. I don't do gold jacket crowns on front teeth...so I won't have many Mexican competitors. However, I do have a wealthy Mexican man and his wife who have done a little over $30,000 in dentistry with me. They would fly in almost weekly from Cancun for their appointments. The wife had already completed nearly that much work in her mouth while in Mexico. Surprisingly, the work was first-rate...but the Mexican dentist's fees were higher than mine! Costa Rica is the hot spot for dental care in the world. First rate, about 10% what the U.S. money hungry dentists are charging. I'd bet that the Costa Rican dentist might have some compassion for their patients well-being, also, not just their patient's money. I very much doubt the fee's are 10%. Looked at the prices in Costa Rica? I had a patient tell me that they had heard that they could get an implant done in Costa Rica for $300. Here, it costs $3000. basskisser must be have read the same Reader's Digest article... FWIW--There are several implant manufacturers in the World. The same companies sell the Costa Ricans the same implants that they sell to us. The fees for the implant, retaining screws, healing cap, healing collar, impression post, analog, pre-fab abutment, and the crown total about $800. That doesn't include the doctor time needed to place the implant, uncover the implant after healing, take the crown impression, make the temporary, and seat the crown. There is no way you can get an implant placed for $500 less than the cost of the parts and pieces alone. Volume, they make up for it in volume. ![]() |
