I have a 40 hp Force engine and it is leaking oil from between the prop and
carrier bearing housing assembly
http://coopscorner.com/takealook/carrier_assembly.htm

Can somone give me some hints on getting the carrier assembly off of the
lower gear caseing? Does it have little pins that it slides onto, does it
screw on, do i need a fancy wheel puller or do i need a big hammer and a
block of wood?

I have the 2 new oil seals, but I am wondering if there is an O ring that is
holding the carrier in place?

Thanks in advance for the help, it is very much appreciated....tom

Why didn't you remove the prop for the picture, much less for your own
satisfaction?

Pressure test the lower unit before tearing in to it. The oil in the
pic could be 2-stroke drool, from the exhaust housing, as it's not clear
in the picture.
