NOYB,
According to this Maryland web site, the record Hammerhead catch was
191 lbs for a scalloped 8/20/93, and 165 lbs for a smooth. They were taken
by Ocean City. Didn't say what the length was.
http://www.dnr.state.md.us/fisheries...rt/record.html I know one
time when fishing from a party boat off of Tarpon Springs a hammerhead
surfaced that was much heavier than 99 lbs. Sure looked all of 15 feet.
Near everybody took a step back from the rail. :-)
Paul

Maryland has baby hammerheads. The IGFA record, as Capt. Bill said, is 991
lbs...caught by Allen Ogle, Sarasota, FL, May 30, 1982.

Sorry, must have misread, I thought it said 99 lbs. Yes, quite a difference.

Ooooop's sorry, I thought the thread was about boats, Grady Whites and
Boston Whalers. Silly me.

It is. It was diverted to a sidebar by an OT remark from NOYB and my
response
to him. He should have started an OT thread, not cluttered this one.

Or you could have responded in an OT thread...
