I can run down to FMB in about 45 mins from here but had not realized there were big Tarpon offshore there. There's big tarpon all along this coast. I'm sure your list of "dont-haves" is a lot shorter than mine. ;-) Ok, I'm not bragging here - just so that we understand each other. And we'll keep this to sal****er game fish. Billfish: Pacific/Atlantic Blue, black, white marlin - don't have a striped or green. Atlantic/Pacific Sail, sword and a spearfish, but I can't take credit for it because it didn't get tagged. Tunas: All eight species. Shark: Mako, blue, black tip, hammerhead, tiger. Misc: Barracuda, wahoo, dolphin, snook, bonefish, permit, King salmon, two species of grouper, striped bass That's right off the top of my head - actually the most memorable fish I've caught. See! I told you your list of "never-caught" would be a lot shorter than mine. The only fish in the tuna family that I've caught was a *big* little tunny. Man they fight hard. He measured 37", and I suspect about 20-25lbs...but he fought like a 5 foot shark. I've caught most of my prized catches this year: 5 1/2 foot blacktip shark in January, 90-100 lb. Tarpon in April, several 20-30 lb. cobia in May, an eight-foot nurse shark in June, and a 125lb (est.) striped marlin in August. All but the marlin were caught within 5 miles of shore, and within 15 miles of my home pass (you call them "inlets" on the East coast). The marlin came out of the Pacific off of Los Cabos. Because of the heavy gear we used for the Marlin, the tarpon fight seemed like a lot harder work-out. I'm hoping to get a "smoker" king this year. I've caught several "snakes" (skinny kings) the last few times out. I also hear the blackfin tuna are out about 30-50 miles around the shrimp boats. I'm waiting for those things to move to within 20-30 miles so I can target them. |
I purchased a new 97 35hp 3cyl Johnson outboard from them for around
3500.00, and paid them 500.00 extra for the extended 5yr warranty, When it blew the powerhead I filed a claim and found out I didn't have an extended warranty. They just pocketed the $$. When I showed the reciept for the extended warranty They said, OH we didn't do the deal with you, the dealership was under different ownership then. True story. F... Jacobson's, They Suck! UD http://community.webtv.net/capuglyda...inUglyDansJack How long ago did this occur? Would an "investigative report" from a local publication be of any use? :-) There are some very explicit laws in Washington State about extended warranty claims. Among other options you can explore is taking your case to the insurance commissioner. If the previous ownership didn't pay the insurance premium for your claim, that puts them on the hook entirely. |
Chuck after the elections it was hoped you, jps etc & you know who
might at least accept the outcome & cut it back you haven't; if anything you've gotten worse. Bullshirts. But don't let the facts screw up a good rant. JPS hasn't posted here in days, maybe weeks. There are several active OT threads currently running where I have participated very little, or not at all. I don't believe there is a current OT thread that I started. (Unless the States Rights thing from about ten days ago is still running). It's me:-) & expect I'll continue as long as you continue OT political stuff, so we have a deal yes?? No, we don't have a deal. You can make yourself look silly as hell, no problem by me. I'll post as I want, when I want, and if you want to flame the heck out of me for it I'll simply take all the more pleasure in peeing you off. If I post on topic, or off, it certainly will not have anything to do with your opinions of me. I gave up just as I did before your last election when Gore lost:-) this NG is ruined by a few OT posters, you & Krause being the main players. Once again, your allegations will not stand up if you check the archives. You just admitted you hadn't frequented the NG for a long time ("gave up") and yet you claim to be expert on the quantity and authorship of OT threads? Come on chuckles it was a paid advertisement!! you got the heater cheap I take it in exchange for spamming us??? Nice one Chuckles. You don't get it. There are what, 25, 30, maybe 35 active boaters (tops) on the NG? Another 20 or so who don't boat but hang out to lob manure wads at Krause or others considered "treasonous liberals"? I've never tried to sell a darn thing on rec.boats. Even if I wanted to, there isn't enough mass to make a market for anything. While in Google, run a search on Karen Smith and "spam". Go back many, many, years. Extremely revealing. Gee me selling anything at all??? If there are so many you'll have no trouble pasting at least what say 3 examples??? go for it; if you can I'll put my hands up to that, but I doubt you will. You misunderstand. When one runs Karen Smith and "spam", they discover that the charge of "spamming" is your stock attack on nearly everybody who has ever posted to rec.boats and who is associated in any way with the marine business. Your crusade against Dave Brown, your attacks on Peggie Hall, etc etc etc are all there for everybody to see. You have helped run off several worthy contributors to rec.boats over the years with your often vicious, frequently relentless attacks, usually because the people hold a different professional opinion than your own. Then you presume to blame the demise of the NG on others. You really are up yourself chucky, chuckys in love with chucky. I don't need your permission or acceptance of anything I say or don't say. You are a political OT & spam poster, so as far as I'm concerned fair game in any circumstances. You're entitled to your opinion. You're also entitled to appear obsessed and consumed by it. What other conclusion can one draw when you can't resist throwing up unprovoked personal attacks? I must be always on your mind. Pity for you, if so. Get this the OT spammer now says he can set the rules for complaining about his OT & spam??? Not likely, the best I can do is when I feel so inclined lob a grenade your way & I do & I will. Yes, I'm sure you will. You have done very little else here for a number of years. Your targets change, but your behavior does not. I've seen what happens to the huge number of people who have politely asked you to stop it, you Chuck, that's you personally, set upon them. How about a single example? Either one of the "huge" number who have "politely asked me to stop" or that I have "set upon" as a result? I wouldn't if I were you:-) now I won't ignore your spam because I can't be bothered with your protests. It occurs to me, Karen, that your "protests" would have no effect except to increase my credibilty among anybody familiar with your modus operandi and track record. Welcome back to the group. Protest, flame, insult, stalk, lie, rant, and lob all the poison ink you choose. You believe you're on a mission, so I'll simply leave you to it. The great humor of the entire situation is your failure to see that your constant personal attacking of others says far more about you than it does about your intended victims. I'm honored to be among those you consider "very much unlike" yourself. Fire away, granny. I'm not really all that bothered by hysterical zealots. Appealing to your reason has failed to dissuade you from your current crusade, (as I suspected), and you can now proceed to show us all your arse and exercise your acid vocabulary. That will certainly improve the content of the group, about which you claim to be so impassioned. PS: Searched all groups Results 1 - 10 of 203 for group:rec.boats insubject:OT author:Smith. |

Chuck, Thanks for the offer but its just water under the bridge now. It happened back in '98 or so after the original warranty expired. The joker that they sold the dealership to only lasted a year before having it taken back by the original owners. I filed a complaint on deaf ears with both the AG office and Senn's office, So I guess you won't be surprised if I say good riddance to both of them :) From all I remember it happened to 40 or 50 other customers. Next time your over at Sure marine, Would you please send Rick, Eric and Steve my regards, and let them know "Boats" the wonder dog is still alive and kickin, Thanks, UD http://community.webtv.net/capuglyda...inUglyDansJack |

I hardly think I had anything at all to do with Peggy leaving & hope not but as for : I had the pleasure of meeting Dave Brown in person once and he struck me as being a pretty straight guy Yep he was smooth dealer could present well sales sales sales. struggling to run a small marina business in a small, out of the way place in the world that has about a 3 month season. Yes & I guess that meant he got lots of extra "rebates" however he failed to mention the facts in all the dealer markup threads over the years, indeed when I repeatedly called him on it he just personally attacked me to maintain the deception (don't your remember him saying he'd just "love" for all you gullible dealer lackies to see his "invoice" & show how little his markup was????, you were being had by pros!!!) Indeed it wasn't till the OMC dealers tried to sue the OMC bankruptcy administrator to steal what little was left from the union retirees, that the magnitude of the deception was fully revealed (30% on Ficht sales!!!!!). Needless to say when attacked I happily oblige & will again if & when the opportunity presents, hopefully gaining as much pleasu-) If you are giving your personal view on him so you should, I guess I can say I disagree?? but as always I like to give relevant reasons. Although I'm a bit chuffed if you say I was instrumental in his demise from here, really??? gee given what I took from him & the other OMC bludgers;......... what a bunch of wimps!!!:-) However I probably should be a bit modest & tell you if you bothered to check you would have seen they were here spamming & abusing right up till about 3 weeks before OMC rolled into the table drain (was that possibly the time dealers got prior knowledge the end was nigh???? but continued to sell defunct engines to unsuspecting consumers??), then your good bloke NG dealers just dumped all the people they'd been telling to buy Ficht:-) &.... wait for it.......... on mass ran away!!!!!! As I said at the time I know I wished a pox on all their houses & thought I'd done pretty OK when the pine tree arrived; but gee what happened next was scary even for me:-) Their victims were here day after day leading to weeks asking for any help or even the most basic of information but ALL your hero dealers just ran & hid as spammer cowards always do when there's nothing left to sell!!! sell!!!! sell!!! What?? then about a year or so later??? Tried to come back as a Merc dealer:-) now that was funny really really hilarious, because during the Ficht debacle he'd told this NG they should buy Ficht not only because there was nothing wrong with it:-) but because they'd been told of warehouses full of blown Optimaxes:-) Would have made spamming Optimaxes a bit difficult yes?? No sales to made from the spam so ........... Thanks Wayne brought back some NG funny times, sad times for the boaters taken in by them ........ & the union retirees taken in by the inept union funds of course. K |
