PS, how have you been surviving the hurricanes? You were pretty close
to ground zero for Frances and Jeanne if my memory is correct.

Mrs. E and I are up north for the summer (MA) so we weren't there for
the big blows. Unfortunately, our house in Jupiter did sustain some
damage. Seems the wind blew a set of double doors open which cascaded
into several outside doors being blow open. One of the sets of French
doors were ripped completely off of their hinges. With the house open to
the elements, most of the furniture and rugs got soaked with rain water.
One of our dining room chairs was picked up and deposited outside in the
pool. At least the roof stayed on, although several concrete roof tiles
were ripped off. All can be fixed, so no big loss.

I have my Scout stored at a marina on one of those rack storage units.
I haven't heard anything so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Hmmm. You have storm shutters? They really can help if they are
installed properly.

We today have a president of the United States who looks like he is the
son of Howdy Doody or Alfred E. Newman, who isn't smarter than either of
them, who is arrogant about his ignorance, who is reckless and
incompetent, and whose backers are turning the United States into a pariah.

What, me worry?

Nope, no shutters. Wish now that we had installed them. We survived
Frances with no damage other than a couple of trees falling and were
probably lulled into a false sense of security. The winds in Jeanne were
much stronger. Hurricanes should be banned.

They will be under John Kerry.

Seriously, check out the shutters. We had them on our house..I recall
they were about $300 per double window, but this was some years ago.

You bet, FL hurricanes at the very least. There's going to be a big
run on storm shutter installation this winter, along with pool cage
replacement. Right now you can't even get an estimate for a new pool
cage.

Sorry to hear about your damage. We drove through the Jupiter area on
I-95 Sunday, about 12 hours behind the eyewall. The winds were still
howling.
