You were pretty close to ground zero for Frances and Jeanne if my memory is correct. Mrs. E and I are up north for the summer (MA) so we weren't there for the big blows. Unfortunately, our house in Jupiter did sustain some damage. Seems the wind blew a set of double doors open which cascaded into several outside doors being blow open. One of the sets of French doors were ripped completely off of their hinges. With the house open to the elements, most of the furniture and rugs got soaked with rain water. One of our dining room chairs was picked up and deposited outside in the pool. At least the roof stayed on, although several concrete roof tiles were ripped off. All can be fixed, so no big loss. I have my Scout stored at a marina on one of those rack storage units. I haven't heard anything so I am keeping my fingers crossed. Eisboch (starting to think snow storms ain't so bad) Hmmm. You have storm shutters? They really can help if they are installed properly. -- We today have a president of the United States who looks like he is the son of Howdy Doody or Alfred E. Newman, who isn't smarter than either of them, who is arrogant about his ignorance, who is reckless and incompetent, and whose backers are turning the United States into a pariah. What, me worry? |
