Prices are dropping rapidly, but just like the stock market, I have no
idea where the bottom is. I'm a bit reluctant to top off the tanks at
this point because all of our cruising plans for the year are up in
the air. On the other hand I'd like to have enough fuel to do a
getaway if the things start to get really out of control. Chances of
that happening are hopefully remote but can't be completely ruled out.

Heh. I've thought a couple of times of telling Mrs.E to "pack your
bags, we are getting the hell out of here."

Then I face reality. Where the hell would we go and how the hell
would we get there? :-)

We've basically gone into self-quarantine mode. She goes nowhere.
I make occasional trips to a convenience store or the grocery store.

Many of the supermarkets have announced "senior hours". The
benefit is the hours are very early ... 5:30am-7am after the
store has been cleaned overnight and restocked.

I went this morning at 5:40am. Was able to get essentials like
toilet paper and some fresh meats to freeze plus vegetables, etc.

Some items were limited in quantity or not available.

The store I went to {Market Basket) has one very long isle usually
filled with bread of all types. This morning it was about 80%
empty.

It is the same here. They have been out of anything made of paper for
a couple weeks. No bread, produce and the canned stuff is sparse. The
stores look like the pictures in Soviet Russia. It makes me wonder
where people are putting it all.
I guess it makes me happy that I always kept a pretty good stock of
stuff on hand because other than white bread, I haven't run out of
anything. Publix is baking all day so they have fresh bread, just
nothing pre packaged.

I can't imagine going anywhere. We are just going to be hermits here
but that is not much of a change for us. If I didn't have to do things
for my FIL, I wouldn't get out of the house much other than walking
deuce and going out in the boat. I am really happy we have the private
trail out back. I don't have to worry about distancing. It is an acre
you can only get to easily from my yard. The jungle is growing back
pretty well going up the other way but I was thinking maybe a couple
of claymores.

I order from Safeway for pickup on Monday. Supposed to pickup today.
Have TP as just before the pandemic we were down to 6 rolls and I hit
Costco.

Diesel locally was still $3.99 at the station near me. Does not seem to
be falling presently here.

Mine's down to $2.49.
