Hey Wayne, is it tiime to gas up?

Kansas Crude closed out at $9.70 a barrel which is about give-away status. Gas is dropping at an accelerated rate. Don’t know how low it can go . I wonder what diesel is going and if it’s about time to fill the trawler?

Prices are dropping rapidly, but just like the stock market, I have no
idea where the bottom is. I'm a bit reluctant to top off the tanks at
this point because all of our cruising plans for the year are up in
the air. On the other hand I'd like to have enough fuel to do a
getaway if the things start to get really out of control. Chances of
that happening are hopefully remote but can't be completely ruled out.

I filled my truck last week. The next day the price dropped forty cents a
gallon.

Damn!

That idea is not improving my disposition at all.

Heh. I've thought a couple of times of telling Mrs.E to "pack your
bags, we are getting the hell out of here."

Then I face reality. Where the hell would we go and how the hell
would we get there? :-)

We've basically gone into self-quarantine mode. She goes nowhere.
I make occasional trips to a convenience store or the grocery store.

Many of the supermarkets have announced "senior hours". The
benefit is the hours are very early ... 5:30am-7am after the
store has been cleaned overnight and restocked.

I went this morning at 5:40am. Was able to get essentials like
toilet paper and some fresh meats to freeze plus vegetables, etc.

Some items were limited in quantity or not available.

The store I went to {Market Basket) has one very long isle usually
filled with bread of all types. This morning it was about 80%
empty.

Exactly. Many of the Caribbean islands have already pulled up the
welcome mat and rumor has it that the Bahamas are about to do the
same. Bahamas would be a bad choice anyway due to their own limited
resources and heavy reliance on the US for basic supplies.

Our friends on the "Ring of Kerry" are in the Bahamas now and have
been for a while.

It has not been without issues though.

They developed a vibration that turned out to be the coupling
between the engine and transmission. They had to find a place
to be hauled out and apparently parts are almost non-existent.

Cecilia ended up flying to the USA to pick up the parts they
needed for repairs. Fortunately this was before the airlines
started shutting down.

Anyway, they have been splashed again and so far, so good.

I have 7 jerry cans in the garage and I will start filling them at
$1.99 It was $2.17 Tuesday (Regular gas).
Going out in the boat may be one of the only safe activities. I may
fly the Yellow Jack. ;-)

It is the same here. They have been out of anything made of paper for
a couple weeks. No bread, produce and the canned stuff is sparse. The
stores look like the pictures in Soviet Russia. It makes me wonder
where people are putting it all.
I guess it makes me happy that I always kept a pretty good stock of
stuff on hand because other than white bread, I haven't run out of
anything. Publix is baking all day so they have fresh bread, just
nothing pre packaged.

I can't imagine going anywhere. We are just going to be hermits here
but that is not much of a change for us. If I didn't have to do things
for my FIL, I wouldn't get out of the house much other than walking
deuce and going out in the boat. I am really happy we have the private
trail out back. I don't have to worry about distancing. It is an acre
you can only get to easily from my yard. The jungle is growing back
pretty well going up the other way but I was thinking maybe a couple
of claymores.

Diesel locally was still $3.99 at the station near me. Does not seem to
be falling presently here.
