That very thing happened with your Haitian refugees...mostly from your state.
They are scared Trump would round them up and send them packing so they are crossing the border into a more civilized culture...mostly in Quebec at this point.

Funny...back then in the winter more seemed to be crossing into Manitoba but now Quebec seems to be favoured. Maybe the French language draws them or the already existing large Haitian community
in Quebec.

Mebbe the Hatians are afraid to learn English.

The Creole they speak is not really French and certainly not Canadian
French.
It would be like a Chicano going to Spain.

My wife speaks fluent Parisian French and has had some experience
communicating with Hatians. She says it's difficult but is able to
make herself understood, much like with French Canadians.
