Are you channeling Herring now? Oh, and it wasn't a news article...it
was a screed from a "convert" to Christianity. Remember reading about
the good old days, when Christianity forced non-believers to convert or
die?

Sounds like present day Muslim's. Convert or die.

Sounds like the Muslims learned it from the Christians...convert or die.

Actually was both Mohammed and Ghengis Khan who spread their message via
convert, or do what I say or die.

You are unaware of early "christian" history.

You probably can on the "dark web" but it does point out the futurity
of gun control if you are trying to prevent this kind of mass
shooting. In a world where tons of drugs regularly flow across borders
and we can't even make a dent in smuggling people, 30 or 40 pounds of
guns and ammo is trivial.

My obscure point was that the Paris terrorist were likely armed and
supplied through the ISIS network. At least one had a Syrian passport.
Don't think these guys were totally "lone wolves".

Strange, you must really live in an anti semitic place. They are
around here, generally just a Menorah but it appears that nobody
understand when you light the candles. They put them up with all
lights lit. Occasionally they even use multicolored bulbs.
Oy vey!

As for that jewish fella, jesus, hell, that isn't even his name, if
there was such a person.

Dunno, I would not be shocked if it was just a generic reference to a
number of evangelical Jews who were killed by the Romans.
I do understand very little of the new testiment actually dates to the
first decade AD.

There is still a lot wisdom in the writings, I just don't have any
brand loyalty.

I've not noticed any menorahs or synagogues around here. Plenty in
Montgomery County and over in Fairfax, of course. Several of the doctors
in the PPO I use are Jewish, but I think they live in the Annapolis area.

I suppose Florida is just a more multi cultural place than Maryland. I
guess I would have noticed it too if I wasn't from there all my life.
I pretty much only knew white people and black people but all
christian Americans (the blacks generally more devout than the
whites). I did know some Jewish folks at work but, like you say,
Montgomery county people.
We have people from all over here but nothing like West Palm Beach
where the kids lived. My grand daughter's school was like the UN.

The full auto conversion is not really all that simple on most guns,
if reliability is important but in this case it didn't matter. The
witnesses I heard said they were using very deliberate SA fire. That
is why they think these guys had training.

The shots fired in the videos I've seen certainly don't sound like
full automatic fire.

Our part of Maryland is slowly progressing from near-redneck to
near-civilized. We have four or five very good locally owned restaurants
in the immediate area, a couple of decent chain restaurants, and the
usually ****ty McDonald's class of restaurants.
Chipotle is supposed to open soon.

If we need to do serious shopping, we go up to Annapolis.

The upside is that it is quiet here, relatively low crime rate, low
population density, and cows, goats, and horsies nearby.

He finally wised up and took the advice of one of the more practical members in here and got both a haircut and a job. I imagine his new life is quite a shock from his old 'Peter Pan' ways. Hope he can stay on the straight and narrow.

Right, because it interferes with your Corporations Uber Alles beliefs.

No. Because it is an irrational response to a problem that we still
have not really come up with a reasonable plan for. If this is CO2,
that is more of a population problem than an oil problem but the
people who hate oil jumped on the bandwagon when they saw an
opportunity. 40 years ago the problem was the smog producing gasses
that came out of tail pipes. We fixed that and most exhaust gas is CO2
and water vapor now ... so CO2 was next.

Without cutting way back on all forms of agriculture and eliminating
farm animals, you are never going to make a dent in greenhouse gas but
that is not a politically viable solution so they go after the low
fruit, the evil oil company.

The coming 'mini ice age should help the global warming problem. Might even convince
some liberals that the sun *does* affect our climate.

Your neck of the woods needs a little diversity. I suppose the black and
white culture suits you though.
