Harry admires the Chinese style commitment to the free exercise of religion. Essentially the policy is "It is OK as long as nobody ever sees it or hears about it". If it ever inconveniences the government in any way it is stamped out. Personally I don't care either way. This is China and the chinese have the right to run their country as they wish. It is really none of our business as long as they don't bother us with it. We certainly do not want them telling us how our government should work. I am not even that upset that they are building islands in the South China Sea. These are largely uninhabited spits of volcanic rock that everyone claimed but nobody actually wanted to do anything with. We should be able to negotiate some kind of settlement here without shooting anyone. That's nice. Can or will you dispute the article? Honestly, I don't think you can, but it was interesting reading your knee-jerk reaction to it. Greg I must have hit the wrong response arrow. That was intended for Harold.. |

Pretty much how it's supposed to work here. I tend to agree with Harry that we may have tipped the other way too far. When Democrats have to go to prayer breakfasts to get elected, we may be letting the church run our life a tad too much and they have destroyed the GOP. On the other hand the Harry's of the world are pressing too hard not to ever see any sign of the religions too. When there is enough politically correct pressure that Starbucks can't put a santa clause on a coffee cup, we have lost our way |
