Default For the Gregg-ster...

I forgot whether I told you Volquartsen charges $95 total to thread and
crown a barrel, include a thread protector, and drill and tap a hole on
the barrel to reinstall the front sight. Shipping back to me was $15.

I found that to be a very competitive price from a real vendor set up to
provide these sorts of services.

That does sound reasonable. I think if I was going to get a can for my
Ruger I would just buy another (threaded) barrel. You can get one for
about the same money the last time I looked.

I imagine my buddy Henk could thread a barrel tho. He has a real nice
lathe with the thread cutting adapter. I just have not seen the need.
Rumor has it, a 2 liter pop bottle works pretty well ... but that
would be wrong ;-)

You can get a barrel for that but getting it in and out of the upper
receiver is a bitch.
I just shoot pop bottles. Dunno how to screw one onto a barrel.
