For the Gregg-ster...
I forgot whether I told you Volquartsen charges $95 total to thread and
crown a barrel, include a thread protector, and drill and tap a hole on the barrel to reinstall the front sight. Shipping back to me was $15. I found that to be a very competitive price from a real vendor set up to provide these sorts of services. -- Proud to be a Liberal. |

I think if I was going to get a can for my Ruger I would just buy another (threaded) barrel. You can get one for about the same money the last time I looked. I imagine my buddy Henk could thread a barrel tho. He has a real nice lathe with the thread cutting adapter. I just have not seen the need. Rumor has it, a 2 liter pop bottle works pretty well ... but that would be wrong ;-) You can get a barrel for that but getting it in and out of the upper receiver is a bitch. I just shoot pop bottles. Dunno how to screw one onto a barrel. -- Sent from my iPhone 6+ |

Mine has little detents on each side which are designed to accept set screws for slip-on accessories such as muzzle breaks. No reason why a suppressor couldn't slip on the same way. Gee, I've never noticed such detents on any of the Ruger Mark III's I've owned or handled, nor are such detents visible on the Mark III's shown on the Ruger websites. I have seen a Rube Goldberg-like device that clamps over the front sight and allows attachment of muzzle accessories. Oh, my current production Mark III, Model 512, has no little detents. -- Proud to be a Liberal. |
